Alright, well I know this isn't really my place, and I dont want to step on anybodies toes (John) but I have a suggestion for a trip for us all to go on. You ready for this one? I think we should go visit the Battleship New Jersey, and for a couple of reasons, one of them being selfish, and the other just cause I think it would be fun/cool.
So, the selfish reason would be that in October I have to do a weding on the Battleship New Jersey, and frankly I dont want the first time I ever step foot on it to be the day off. And then I was checking out the website to see about touring it, and it really did look like something fun that we could all do. Oh, and Kate, we could probably take some awesome pictures on there too with like the brige in the background and whatnot. And this would also be a very educational trip because the ship had been in several of our major wars....
Alright, well let me know if you guys think this would be a good idea, and if so i will try and plan something. We can make a day of it and go do some other things in that area maybe too or something, who knows but anyway lets get some thoughts on this subject please.
Posted by Angela at May 4, 2004 11:36 AMDo you have a link for the website? I'd like to take a look to see if it looks interesting to me. I can't just take your word for it :P'
Posted by: kat at May 4, 2004 01:07 PMdarn it i keep forgetting, get more interactive with my posts...ok here goes...www.thebattleshipnewjersey.org
Posted by: angela at May 4, 2004 02:12 PMsorry i dont know how to make it a little thingy you just click on :(
Posted by: angela at May 4, 2004 02:13 PMAnother good reason for you to go there beforehand would be to make sure you don't get seasick on it before you get married on it. Nobody likes puking at weddings.
Posted by: BattleshipNJFan at May 4, 2004 02:31 PMIsn't the Battleship New Jersey in like Baltimore, or am I losing my mind? Because if so, I hear its like $15 just to get on the damned thing and tour it. Dina went there for her vacation the other week, and was telling me she was gonna take Austin on it, but when she found out how much it was, she was like "You can look at it from out here". Then again, its Dina so she could've been exaggerating. Maybe we can take one of the water taxis too while we're down there....
Posted by: Steph at May 4, 2004 04:05 PMWhen I get a chance, I'm going to add a spell checker to movable type.
Posted by: John at May 4, 2004 04:16 PMSteph, it's in Camden.
Posted by: John at May 4, 2004 04:17 PMI'm sorry am i the only one cracking up about the "battleshipNJfan" i'm seriously LOL. by the way battleshipnjfan, i'm not the one getting married, but i bet you knew that didnt you, and its $8 to go in and look around, $12 if you want a tour guide while you walk around, which we dont need. and besides, a day with us all together exploring a piece of our history together is priceless.
john, was the spellcheck thingy comment geared towards me?? if so, sorry but...well i guess i dont have any excuse.
Posted by: angela at May 4, 2004 04:46 PMI'm LOLing about the battleshipnjfan too. So weird that fan de everything is.
Steph, why would the Battleship NEW JERSEY be in Maryland? C'mon now!
I think there's some sort of Internet crack going around and you've all had some. You best start sharing so I can relate to being cracked out when I post shit.
Posted by: BattleshipNJfan's Fan at May 4, 2004 05:01 PMLook, all I know is there's a battleship next to the Baltimore aquarium. I just assumed that was it since Dina and I were just talking about it. Or maybe she wasn't talking about that aquarium. I dunno, I thought it was odd, but I'm not that smart. And don't worry Ang, I was laughing too. This nonsense must end!
And yeah, you're a horrible speller Miss Angela "I-Was-A-Journalism-Major" Riley. You suck. :-P
Posted by: Steph at May 4, 2004 08:44 PMWell steph, if i were getting paid to write these posts/comments then maybe i would take the time to check the spelling and so on...but in case you didnt know, im not getting paid, and im only chit chatting with friends so if i dont spell some things correctly, though shit! you know i love ya right?
Posted by: angela at May 4, 2004 10:48 PMYou mean "tough" shit? Right? Cuz I got confused there for a second. Although, you could be saying "so shit" with a really big lisp. You need to clarify.
:-D
Posted by: Steph at May 5, 2004 10:06 PMHahaha, im crackin up about the though shit thing, that was funny, oh and the lisp thing, that was good too! yeah maybe i should double check my spelling since im probably starting to look like a moron, but i just type it so fast and then post it, cause i usually only have a few minutes, but i guess thats no excuse...oh well.
Posted by: angela at May 5, 2004 10:42 PMIts okay, I understand. Really, I do. I think. Its not that you're looking like a moron, so much as you're just confusing me. And that's not very hard to do really. Other than that, you know what we should do? I think we should make a day out of it and go to the Camden Aquarium as well as seeing the battleship. I got all happy when I thought it was the one next to the Baltimore Aquarium cuz I thought we'd visit there too, but I suppose the Camden Aquarium is just as well. Then we can cross the bridge and have dinner at Guru on South Street which serves bangin Asian soulfood. I have our whole day planned out. Yippee!
Posted by: Steph at May 6, 2004 01:42 PMYo. Between John and myself we have 4 free admissions into the Aquarium (if we can locate them). I've been wanting to go for a while now, so I think we definitely should.
Posted by: kat at May 6, 2004 02:20 PMnow the hard part is trying to coordinate all the schedules of everyone that wants to go.
Posted by: angela at May 6, 2004 11:05 PMI'd say mid June. By then all the parties will be over with. I swear to God, starting next weekend until the end of May (maybe even longer than that) I have one day set aside for BVCC work and the other set aside for a graduation party. It's insane...
Posted by: kat at May 7, 2004 12:09 AMwell have to see about the june thing, at least for me anyway, cause i have 4 weddings just myself in the month of june, but i have two in one weekend, so technically i should have one weekend free, well see though, i am going to be crazy with work this summer probably all the way up until christmas, which is a good thing, but its gonna suck as well.
Posted by: angela at May 7, 2004 09:02 AMMight be better to not go on a weekend, and go in the middle of the week. Less crowded, everyone will pretty much be down the shore. Plus I'm sure Ang can take off a mid-week day, since all your work is really going to be mainly on the weekends. It'd be best for all of us...
